Imagine that Sirius Black just happened to be visiting the Potters when Voldemort came. Imagine that Remus Lupin had found someone to love him and had even gotten a house beside James. Imagine that the Dark Lord had to fight off the three Marauders as well as Lily Evans. And soon enough, the Order would arrive but they would find nothing left of the Dark Lord but his cloak.
Imagine that.
Sirius was visiting his friends that night. It was an unexpected visit for he just had a feeling about that night. Remus Lupin had gotten married and lived with his wife next door, together with their son, born in the same year as Harry. Voldemort. He came. Despite being caught unawares, James and Sirius managed to hold him off. Lily slipped out of the back door to inform Remus. She handed Harry over to his then pregnant wife and went off to join the fight, despite Remus’ insistent not to. Lysandra Lupin conjured her patronus to inform the Order.
So the three Marauders and Lily dueled him. Lily went down first. Sirius next. Seeing his wife and best pal down, James Potter uttered the Killing curse. The Dark Lord disappeared, right before more members of the Order arrived. He did it. James Potter had gotten rid of Voldemort. Lily and Sirius weren’t dead; they were sent to Saint Mungo’s and pronounced fine. The war however, dragged on for a few more months, with the more dedicated Death Eaters refusing to believe that their Lord was gone. The Longbottoms were tortured into insanity. More Muggles were killed. But the majority of them were captured and sent to Azkaban.
Life went on.
Lily and James had another child, a daughter this time. Remus and his wife had three children of their own. And what of Sirius? Being a swinging bachelor of course. Peter… Dear Peter was sent to Azkaban as well, for betraying his friends, for being a double agent. The next generation of children grew up in relative peace and waited for their chance to go into Hogwarts. Lovely, isn’t it? But as we all know, evil doesn’t stay idle for long.
Rumours of his reappearance soon surfaced. Some say they saw him in Albania. Some say they saw him lurking in a village near Godric’s Hollow where the Potters live. The Ministry isn’t quite bothered about this as the Wizarding World was at peace right now. The Order however, knows not to belittle anything, even rumours. They start to be more alert and soon it is reported that Azkaban has a breakout, with Death Eaters escaping. The Ministry refuses to acknowledge the fact that He Who Must Not Be Named is back.
So what is Voldemort planning? Will the children of the Marauders attempt to do anything? What about the Marauders, who have families of their own now? What will everyone do? There will always be stories of love and friendship, even with danger lurking.
Just be sure you’re not in too deep.
